Hello

Since updating to version 4 I have not been able to successful run a Members Position Report. Each time I run the report an error message "There are no records for this report" appears.

Just in case my file may have been corrupted, I restored an earlier version of the file, from which I had, under the previous versionof MYSF, successfully run the report. No joy, the error message still appeared.

Regards .... Ron

A bit more information on the above problem. I refreshed the sample fund and ran the members position report, the same error message appeared.

Hi,

There were a large number of new accounts added in the last update and it appears that some of them did not have the preservation mode set correctly. This causes the report to stop while preparing the information.

To fix the problem please follow these steps:
1- Go to System Setup > General Ledger
2- Select account number 3638, under 3620.
3- When the account is selected you should find that the name on the right hand side shows 'Tax Expense on Excessive Contributions - '
4- The last thing in the list of items on the right hand side is Preservation Type. This needs to be changed from 'None' to some other setting, normally 'Preserved'. if there are no transactions to this account then the preservation type does not matter, so long as it is not 'None'.
5- After you have made a selection from the Preservation Type selection box, click Save.
6- When you click Save you will see a warning about changes to the account structure. In this case the warning can be ignored. Click OK to ignore the warning.

There will be one 3638 numbered account for each member, please repeat this process for each of the accounts.

Please also repeat the above process for account 5668 of which there will also be one for each investor.

After that is completed you should find that the report runs without any problems.

We do apologise for the inconvenience and the next update will include a process to set the preservation types for those accounts for any funds that are not updated in the above manner.

Regards,

MySF
